Effect Of Color In Branding Your Social Media Page

The color representation for a product is an important thing for effective communication and branding of a company.  In psychology color have a significant role representing one’s thoughts and emotions. So, these colors send a silent message about the business to the users.

Some internet marketers fall into a sea of hot pink because they think no one will miss this color.

Use Of Colors In Business & Social Media:

If you are looking to choose a color for your brand logo and business think carefully because the colors you choose can affect your ability to achieve your goals. According to color psychology, they can greatly effect human emotion and behaviour, there are some proven hypotheses about this.

From a marketing perspective, if color can affect human behaviour, that can be seen as a powerful tool for promoting a product or service. But here’s the tricky part, just like languages, the meaning of color can vary across cultures and perceptions. Before tweaking your brand or painting your premises, research the meaning (and therefore the effect) of your chosen color, to have on your business.

Before changing your brand to red to get more online conversions, think about how to complement your existing palette. For example, if red increase online conversions – can you use an element of red to perhaps change your call-to-action buttons?

In general business cards are dressed in some shade of blue and white. This is particularly true for corporations. It seems the larger the company, the harder they fall for some shade of safe blue, since it feels comfortable for eyes to view this color.

Tips To Choose Colors:

Here are few tips on choosing colors for your business. A good graphic designer can give you in-depth information but, here I am mentioning the few basic tips to minimize your effort.

  1. You want colors and color combinations that have an evergreen quality about them so they won’t go in and out of fashion.
  2. The best place to start is to ask yourself what type of a message you want to send about yourself and about your company/brand. Start there and see which colors click.
  3. Next, ask yourself what role color plays in your communications. Is it a key component of your communications or supportive to your overall message?
  4. You don’t want to be afraid of color. You want to use it where it can send its message but you don’t want it to overpower and become the message.
  5. Once you select your company colors, be consistent in your usage. It should appear throughout all of your communications and branding efforts – business cards, stationary, website, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn company page, etc.

Generalizing color psychology

Robert Plutchik created “The wheel of emotions”. He suggested 8 primary bipolar emotions: joy versus sadness; anger versus fear; trust versus disgust; and surprise versus anticipation. Like colors, primary emotions can be expressed at different intensities and can mix with one another to form different emotions.

The Wheel of Emotions

What exactly the colors resembles:

In color psychology, there are some general views which are mostly suggested by various studies by experts.

color-meanings
The studies have revealed that our brains prefer recognizable brands, which makes color incredibly important when creating a brand identity. It has even been suggested in Color Research & Application that it is of paramount importance for new brands to specifically target logo colors/ Facebook page colors that ensure differentiation from competitors (if the competition all uses blue, you’ll stand out by using purple).

5 Ways Your Restaurant Can Benefit From Using Facebook tabs

The rise of social media has given immense opportunities to business, both small and big. Among the popular social platforms, Facebook brings in the advantage of larger audience, viral effect, exciting features and inexpensive marketing tools for the businesses. Facebook offers restaurants a great way to stay in touch with customers, find new customers and expand their visibility online. Here are 5 benefits your restaurant can derive from Facebook.

  1. Build excitement and awareness through content

Regular posts on your restaurant’s business page can do wonders. The key is to keep informative and valuable content flowing on your page. Try to bring a variety in your posts – like status updates, images and short videos.

Your posts can be of two types – informative content and promotion-based content.

Facebook business page is the right platform to inform your customers and new users about your menu and any new additions to your menu. You can also create excitement by holding contests, sweepstakes and giveaways.

posts

While you may be tempted to post regularly about promotion activities, it may turn fans off. So try to be as informative as possible. Share content which offers value and helps users to engage with the page. A loyal community can be built only if you share content which inspires, educates and connects with the users.

  1. Use Facebook Check – In feature

The Check-in feature in Facebook is highly valuable for your restaurant. When users check in to your restaurant, it raises awareness about your business. Also, the other users can view details regarding the restaurant – for example its location and ratings. Another huge advantage is the Graph Search Results. This shows the results of the check-ins made by your friends.

The Check-In feature can also be used to offer deals. Check-In deals are a kind of incentives which can be given out whenever a user checks in to your restaurant. They vary from individual deal (given to a single person who checks in), friends deal (when a group of people check-in together), loyalty deal (reward customers who have visited your restaurant a certain number of times) and charity deal (donate to charity whenever customers check in).

  1. Utilize the Menu Tab wisely

The Menu tab is a useful tool in your business page. Add a tab and create a menu to highlight what you have to offer.

A great option would be to allow registrations on your page via the tab. Create a tab under the name of “Reservations” and let users reserve their table right away. This improves the user experience drastically as they receive all the information in a single page without having to search through other websites.

You can also include a “menu” tab on your page. This gives your menu items a maximum visibility and gradually helps your customers to visit more often.

All you have to do is promote these tabs on your page and direct the users to these tabs with attractive content.

Now that there is no 20% text restriction on the cover image, you can use this area wisely. Cover photos are the first thing that a user sees when they check your business page. Use this area to highlight offers, discounts or any interesting happenings at your restaurant.
